A contract was signed for the commencement of construction works on 133 apartment units in Belgrade and 55 prefabricated houses.

23.10.2020. A contract for the commencement of construction works on 133 apartments located in the Dr. Ivana Ribara settlement in Belgrade was signed by the Acting Director of the Public Sector’s Project Implementation Unit (LLC) Mr. Dusan Kovacevic, Mr. Miroslav Mihajlovic representing the bidder’s group Grading (LLC) Paracin and Interklima Enterprise (LLC) Vrnjacka Banja.
Formerly, a contract on cooperation had been signed among the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, the City of Belgrade and the Project Implementation Unit.  The City of Belgrade is to complete the beneficiary selection process while the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration is the lead institution for the implementation of the Regional Housing Program.
The apartments are intended for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia and are to be constructed within the scope of Subproject 9 of the Regional Housing Program.
It is expected that the construction of the new housing units in the Dr. Ivana Ribara settlement will commence in November of the current year.  The deadline for the completion of the building has been set at 400 days.
The total value of the signed contract amounts to 5,488,535 EUR with VAT.
Furthermore, a contract was signed for the construction of 55 prefabricated houses for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia and which will be built on the territories of 39 municipalities within the Republic of Serbia.  The total value of the contract amounting to 1,233,775 EUR.
Within the scope of the Regional Housing Program, the construction of 250 housing units has been planned in the settlement of Ovca, located on the territory of City of Belgrade.
The aim of the Regional Housing Program has been provide durable housing solutions for 8,320 refugee families from the territories of the former Yugoslavia, precisely; 24,960 beneficiaries in accordance with the approved resources provided through donations at the present time.
The Regional Housing Program is a joint, multiannual program being implemented by the Republics of Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Program is being implemented with the support of the OSCE, UNHCR, Council of Europe Development Bank and is being financed by means of resources provided through the European Union as the single largest donor, followed by the United States of America, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxemburg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
