169 refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia accommodated in their new apartments.

05.08.2020. Refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia who have their residence in the Municipality of Stara Pazova have received the keys to 169 apartments which have been constructed under Subproject 5 of the Regional Housing Program.

On account of the current situation with the Corona Virus, the beneficiaries of the aforementioned apartments were presented with the keys to their new homes over the course of several days in keeping with the current epidemiological measures, with the remaining families being presented with the keys to their homes on Wednesday 05.08.2020 by the President of the Municipaliy, Mr. Djordje Radinovic, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Branislav Nedimovic and the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, Mr. Vladimir Cucic.  Thereafter, the assembled dignitaries extended their wishes for a long and happy life in their new homes to the beneficiaries involved.  

The Regional Housing Program is a joint, multiannual program being undertaken by the Republic of Serbia, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, and aims to provide sustainable housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families in the region.  

The program is being implemented with the support of the OSCE, the UNHCR, the Development Bank of the Council of Europe and is financed primarily by means of donor funds; the largest donors being the European Union, followed by the United States of America, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxemburg, Spain, Cypress, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
