Integration
The integration of persons who have been granted asylum is regulated by the Law on Migration Management ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 107/12) and the Law on Asylum and Temporary Protection ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 24/18).Detailed conditions, manner, procedure and other issues of importance for inclusion of persons granted asylum in social, cultural and economic life in the Republic of Serbia are regulated by the Decree on the manner of inclusion in the social, cultural and economic life of persons granted asylum ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No. 101/16, 56/2018) and the Regulation on criteria for determining priorities for accommodation of persons who have been granted the right to refuge or granted subsidiary protection and conditions of use of residential space for temporary accommodation ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" , bro j 63/15, 56/18).
A person who has been granted asylum shall have the right to:
1) reside;
2) accommodation;
3) freedom of movement;
4) healthcare;
5) education;
6) labour market access;
7) legal aid;
8) social assistance;
9) ownership;
10) freedom of religion;
11) family reunification;
12) personal documents in accordance with the Law on asylum and temporary protection;
13) integration assistance.
A person who has been granted asylum shall respect the Constitution, the law and other regulations and general legal acts of the Republic of Serbia.
A person who has been granted the right to asylum is obliged to attend classes of Serbian language in the Republic of Serbia.
In accordance with a special regulation regulating the accommodation of the person granted asylum, person who has been granted asylum shall be provided with accommodation according to the capabilities of the Republic of Serbia for a maximum of one year from the validity of the decision granting him/her the right to asylum, unless he possesses monetary funds. Under the accommodation is considered a certain living space given for temporary use or financial assistance needed for temporary accommodation.
Within its possibilities, the Republic of Serbia provides the conditions for the inclusion of persons who have been granted the right to asylum in social, cultural and economic life.
