20 apartments intended for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia were presented to their recipients in a ceremony in Novi Pazar

08.06.2020. A ceremony was held in Novi Pazar on the 8th of June 2020 where the keys to 20 apartments intended for refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, were presented to beneficiaries living within the city.  The apartments have been constructed within the framework of ‘Subproject 5’ of the Regional Housing Program (RHP) which is being implemented in Serbia by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration as the lead institution.

Financial resources necessary for the construction of the building in Blazevo Street No. 150 A and 150 B, in the community of Postenje, were provided through the donor fund of the Regional Housing Program while the land and connecting infrastructure were provided by the city of Novi Pazar.  The total value of the construction works amounts to 480,987 EUR and the total surface area of the building is 1,252m2.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Coordination Commission for the Durable Integration of Refugees, Mr. Rasim Ljajic, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication, Mr. Vladimir Cucic, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Nihad Bisevac, Mayor of Novi Pazar, Mr. Bojan Stevic, National Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Government, Mrs. Michaela Thurman, representative of the OSCE, as also the representatives of international and other organizations and institutions.
