A Donation from the United Nations Children's Fund presented at the Asylum Centre in Krnjača
18.05.2023.Today, a donation from the United Nations Children's Fund and the Danish Refugee Council was presented at the Asylum Centre in Krnjača which was attended by Representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia under whose jurisdiction this Centre operates.
The United Nations Children's Fund donated play and learning parcels for Refugee and Migrant Children who are staying in Asylum and Reception Centres and private accommodation. The parcels included school supplies and material for creative design and play; those were adapted to the ages of children from birth to 6 years and from 7 to 10 years to help children and their families in play and enable a fuller and happier childhood.
In the coming days, it is planned to distribute parcels to children up to the age of 10 residing in the Asylum and Reception Centres in Šid, Vranje and Bujanovac.
A valued partner of the Commissariat, Danish Council for Refugees will distribute monthly cash cards to the value of 3,500 RSD to all families with children at the Reception and Asylum Centres in Krnjača, Šid, Vranje and Bujanovac. The aid is equal to the ruling value of child support in the Republic of Serbia.
A long-standing successful partnership between the Commissariat and the United Nations Children's Fund was realized in the areas of child protection, education, health, as well as providing the basic life needs of children and families in the Centres.
