A new facility for children opens in RC Sombor

15.08.2019. On August 13, a newly built educational and entertainment space at the Reception Center in Sombor, intended primarily for children accommodated in the Center, has started to operate.

At the beginning of 2018, the construction of this 160 m2 prefabricated educational facility began envisaged for children aged 7-14, for preschool activities for younger children, as well as for daily educational, motivational and recreational activities.

The space is designed and built to the highest standards, funded by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) with the help of donors from Norway and the United States.

At the moment, a full-time educator devoted to working with the youngest residents of the center is employed. Moreover, Serbian language classes are also organized three times a week, as well as prep classes for the beginning of the new school year. Migrant children at RC Sombor will start the first day of school with a teacher who will work full time with them from September 2nd.

IT corner will also soon be a part of this new, creative space where migrants will be able to gain computer skills.
