Assistance granted to women from refugee and displaced families
09.05.2018.Fund for Assisting Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina awarded the first contracts for assistance for economic empowerment of women from refugee and displaced families in the territory of Vojvodina.
Ivan Gerginov, Assistant Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, commanded the efforts and activities of the Provincial Government and the Fund for Assisting Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in solving the problems and announced the first joint public calls in the upcoming months.
Twenty three female beneficiaries from Novi Sad, Vrbas, Zrenjanin, Indjija, Srbobran, Pancevo and Stara Pazova received the one-time non-refundable assistance for the purchasing of tools and equipment for employment or for developing activities they are already engaged in, like trade, agricultural production and other. The total value of the assistance for economic empowerment is four million dinars.
The program for economic empowerment of women from refugee and displaced families in the territory of Vojvodina is implemented in accordance with the National strategy for improving the position of women as well as with the activities aiming at improving gender equality.
