Assistant Commissioner Gerginov at a two-day media workshop within the EU Support to Migration Management in Serbia

06.06.2019. Assistant Commissioner Ivan Gerginov participated in a two-day Media Workshop in Novi Sad within the European Union Support to Migration Management in the Republic of Serbia.

Panelists on the topic of institutional competence and response to migration management in Serbia included Dragan Vulevic, Special Advisor to the Minister for Labor, Employment, Social and Veteran Affairs, Aleksandar Rankovic, from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia and Sanja Savic, representative of the Center for Human Trafficking Victims Protection.

In his presentation, the Assistant Commissioner referred to the role of the Commissariat during the increased influx of migrants and presented the current situation in the field of migration.

The remaining panels served to exchange experiences of local community stakeholders on key issues of relevance to migration, such as the provision of public services to migrants, but also the response to crisis situations and the impact of fake news on the relevance of the context of migration issues.

In the scope of this media workshop, a meeting with the Field Team of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration in the Reception Center „Adasevci“ was also organized.
