Ceremonious handover of keys to six apartments for refugees from B&H and Croatia in Bački Petrovac (Kulpin) and contracts on the allocation of 15 packages of construction materials to refugee families in Bač

In Bački Petrovac, on 20 July 2021, the keys of six apartments were ceremoniously handed over to refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, who reside in the territory of this Municipality. The apartments have been built within Subproject 8 of the Regional Housing Program in the Republic of Serbia (RSP).

Financial resources for the construction of these six apartments were provided mostly from the donor funds of the Regional Housing Program, managed by the Council of Europe Development Bank, and to a lesser extent from the municipal budget. The amount of the donation from the Regional Housing Program Fund for these apartments is € 134,000.

On the same day, in Bač, contracts on the allocation of assistance in construction materials were handed over to 15 refugee families from B&H and the Republic of Croatia who have a residence on the territory of the Municipality of Bač. The maximum value of one package of construction materials is 9,000 euros, and the minimum is 4,500 euros.

The events were attended by Vladimir Cucić, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Brigitte Kuchar, Program Manager of the European Union Delegation to Serbia, Richard Collie, Head of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Serbia, Jovan Lazarov, Head of the Public Sector Project Management Unit. In Bački Petrovac, the event was attended by the deputy mayor Srđan Simić, while the host in Bač was the assistant mayor Nikola Vuletić.

 The Regional Housing Program is a joint multi-year program of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide permanent housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families in the region. It is implemented with the support of the OSCE and the UNHCR, and is funded by the European Union, which is also the largest donor, but also by the United States, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
