Ceremony of handover of 40 contracts awarding construction material packages to refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia who settled in the territory of the City of Parliament

Today, on 30 July 2021, the ceremony of handover of a total of 40 contracts on packages of construction materials to refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia was held in Sombor. This aid has been secured through the Regional Housing Program (RHP), Subproject 9. The maximum value of one package of construction materials is 9,000 euros, and the minimum is 4,500 euros.

The event was attended by Svetlana Velimirović, Deputy Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Gerhard Salzer, Representative of the Delegation of Europe to Serbia and Jovan Lazarov, Head of the Office of the Director of the Public Sector Project Management Unit and the Deputy Mayor of Sombor, Ljiljana Tica.

The Regional Housing Program is a joint multi-year program of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide permanent housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families in the region. It is implemented with the support of the OSCE and the UNHCR, and is funded by the European Union, which is the largest donor, but also by the United States, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
