Commissioner Cucic and CEB Vice-Governer Boček signing Grant Agreement for Obrenovac

20.06.2019. Grant Agreement between the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia in the amount of 289,000 EUR intended for the reconstruction of one facility in the Obrenovac Reception Center has been signed today in the premises of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration.

Grant agreement was signed by Vladimir Cucic, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia and Tomáš Boček, Vice-Governor at the Council of Europe Development Bank.

Approved funds are provided from the Migration and Refugee Fund intended to assist member states in migration crisis.
The facility in RC Obrenovac which will be reconstructed with these funds will function as a training center, intended to improve the quality of life of migrants while staying in the Center. It will allow them access to systemic non-formal education and vocational programs, occupational activities, enabling easier integration in the countries of destination. All trainings will be in line with the needs of migrants, their previous knowledge and experience, cultural and social habits, and in accordance with the needs of the labor market in the countries of destination. Training will be tailored to all categories of migrants in relation to origin, age and gender.
