Commissioner Cucic and Minister Djordjevic on current migrant situation

22.08.2019. Commissioner for Refugees and Migrations Vladimir Cucic met today with Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran’s and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic. They discussed current situation in the field of migrations and improvement of cooperation.

They exchanged informations on current situation on the ground and problems with admission and initial care of unaccompanied minors. The situation regarding the accommodation capacities of both the Commissariat and the social welfare system concerning specialized institutions for the placement of children in need of special care was also considered.

Minister Djordjevic and Commissioner Cucic expressed satisfaction with the cooperation so far and expressed their readiness to act together in some long-term issues.

The meeting was also atended by Deputy Commissioner Svetlana Velimirovic and Jelena Marjanovic, representative of the Commissariat, as well as State Secretary in Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran’s and Social Affairs Svetozar Aleksov, in charge of mixed migration flows.
