COMMISSIONER NATAŠA STANISAVLJEVIĆ MET WITH MILORAD PUPOVAC, PRESIDENT OF THE SERBIAN NATIONAL COUNCIL

Commissioner Nataša Stanisavljević spoke today with Prof. Milorad Pupovac, President of the Serbian National Council. The meeting was attended by Jovan Vlaović, Marija Crnogorac and Eugen Jakovčić, and for the Commissariat, Assistant Commissioner Dušica Popović, Đorđe Perić and Ivana Anić Ćurko.

Main topic of the meeting was further cooperation aimed at helping Returnees in the Republic of Croatia. In the past, Republic of Serbia donated aid in agricultural automation, sowing seeds, household appliances, beehives and seedlings with the aim of sustaining the return of Serbs to Croatia while providing helping Returnees.

To ensure that the cooperation is adapted to the Returnees’ needs it was agreed to formalize the process through the Agreement on Cooperation, for the Serbian National Council to analyse said needs and way of transparent selection of the most vulnerable Beneficiaries whom Serbia can help in accordance with its capabilities.

Professor Pupovac thanked the Commissariat for the many years of successful cooperation and their help to date with hope that it will continue.

“The Commissariat plans to continue aiding Returnee communities in the Republic of Croatia in the coming years, our goal is to make it easier for people who return to Croatia to remain there and enable them a dignified life because in this way we encourage families in economic empowerment which, in addition to solving their housing needs, is most important”, concluded the Commissioner.
