Construction material for another 105 refugee families

In 26 cities and municipalities across Serbia, contracts are being signed with a total of 105 refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, who, at the competition of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, received packages of construction materials to complete the house and improve living conditions. The value of one package is from 4,500 to 9,000 euros.

Assistance is granted within the Regional Housing Program, Subproject 8. The total value of the procurement, which was implemented as a implementing partner by the Public Sector Projects Implementing Unit Ltd., is 792,138 euros, excluding VAT.

Packages of construction materials were given to refugee families residing in Bogatić (15), Novi Bečej (9), Smederevo (9), Kragujevac (8), Gornji Milanovac (8), Titel (6), Plandište (6), Paraćin 5), Svilajnac (4), Mionica (4), Kovacica (4), Golubac (4), Varvarin (3), Opovo (3), Cacak (3), Mali Zvornik (2), Kraljevo (2), Arilje (2) and one package each in Blace, Veliko Gradište, Žabalj, Pirot, Prijepolje, Trstenik, Ljig and Prokuplje.

The Regional Housing Program (RSP) is a joint multi-year program of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide permanent housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families from the former Yugoslavia. So far, a total of 5,180 refugee families from BiH and the Republic of Serbia have been taken care of from the Regional Housing Program in Serbia. Croatia. Within that number, 1,893 packages of construction materials were allocated, 1,647 apartments were built and moved in, 1,350 rural houses with a garden were bought and 290 prefabricated houses were built.

It is implemented with the support of the OSCE, UNHCR and the Council of Europe Development Bank, and is funded by the European Union, which is the largest donor, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
