Contracts for 12 purchased apartments were handed over to refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia

Today, Deputy Commissioner for Refugees and Migration Svetlana Velimirović handed over contracts of 12 apartments purchased for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, who have a residence on the territory of the City of Belgrade.

A modest contract award ceremony was organized at the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration.

The Republic of Serbia has acquired 12 housing units on the territory of the city of Belgrade, the municipality of Grocka, for the needs of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration. The apartments were purchased with donor funds, within the Subproject 9 of the Regional Housing Program. Beneficiaries will be able to move into the apartments by the end of this week.

The Regional Housing Program is a joint multi-year program of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide permanent housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families in these four countries. It is implemented with the support of the OSCE and the UNHCR, and is financed primarily by donor funds, namely the European Union, which is also the largest donor, the United States, Germany, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. The RHP Fund is managed by the Council of Europe Development Bank.
