Contracts signed on construction of apartments in Novi Sad, Vrbas and Cacak for refugees from B&H and Croatia

Today on February 22, 2021 in Belgrade contracts were signed for the construction of a total of 133 apartments for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia. The apartments will be built in Novi Sad (94), Čačak (25) and Vrbas (14) within the donor Regional Housing Program (Subproject 9).

The regional housing program is a joint multi-year program of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide permanent housing to the most vulnerable refugee families from these four countries. The program in the Republic of Serbia is managed by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration. The Public Sector Project Management Unit is an implementing partner of the Program.

The contracts were signed with the contractors in the premises of the Project Management Unit in the Public Sector Ltd. Belgrade by the acting Director of the Public Utility Company Dušan Kovačević. The total value of the works is 5,396,658 euros with VAT. The deadline for the construction of apartments in Novi Sad is 360 days, in Čačak 330 days, while the deadline for the construction of apartments in Vrbas is 280 days.

On behalf of the Group of Bidders Kej Ltd. Valjevo and Jugogradnja Ltd. Belgrade, Filip Maksimović signed a contract for the construction of 94 apartments in Novi Sad and 14 in Vrbas with the director of the Public Utility Company, and the Contract for the execution of works on the construction of 25 housing units in Čačak was signed by Vukajlo Babić on bealf of the Group of Bidders Inobačka Ltd. Novi Sad, Arhikom Ltd. Novi Sad and Brkanlić Inženjering Ltd. Novi Sad.

The Regional Housing pProgram is implemented with the support of the OSCE, UNHCR and the Council of Europe Development Bank, and is funded by the European Union, which is also the largest donor, as well as the United States, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
