On 27 December 2022 keys to the newly built apartments were handed over to the refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia. The apartments were built as part of the Regional Housing Programme, Sub-Project 9.

The total gross area of the building is 936.32 m² to the value of €462,609.20.

"Within the Regional Housing Programme, a total of 6,884 housing solutions have been allocated to Beneficiaries thus far and in Pećinci total support through Budget and Donor funds was provided to 275 families with the aim of enabling housing or economic empowerment as part of the Regional Housing Programme. 75 keys were handed over and the construction of another 12 apartments which we expect to be moved during the course of the next year is in progress, and they are located near the current location. Today is an important day for these 15 families who have finally welcomed their new home where they will be able to usher in the New Year. All people must have equal rights in the country in which they currently reside. This is the policy that the Republic of Serbia and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration adhere to, and will continue to follow in the future. In the past years the Republic of Serbia provided housing to a total of 26,151 families of which 19,573 were to the refugees from the territories of the former republics of SFRY and 6,499 internally displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija. In the coming year, we expect to solve the housing issue for more than 500 families”, Commissioner Nataša Stanisavljević said.

The Regional Housing Programme is a joint recurrent Programme of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia which aims to provide permanent housing solutions to the most vulnerable refugee families in the Region.
