Migration Management and Protection of Migrants Training conducted in Training Centre Plandište

In cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia (SCRM), International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and the University of Maastricht, Introduction to Migration Management and Protection training took place as part of Strengthening Capacities and Partnerships for Migration Management Project in Serbia.

At the Migration Training Centre in Plandište, a two-day training on Introduction to Migration Management and Protection of Migrants was held on 18 and 19 May 2023, the aim of which is to strengthen the capacity of Reception Officers for Foreign Nationals. Furthermore, training for purpose of strengthening the capacity of Trustees which include employees of the Commissariat, Regional Coordinators and Local Self-Government Officials was conducted on 22 and 23 of May 2023.

The trainings were held by an expert on migration Talitha Dubow, Manja Vitasović from the International Centre for the Development of Migration Policies (ICMPD) and Jasmina El Masalme, representative of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration.

The goal of training is to improve long-term experience in working with different categories of migrants by deepening theoretical knowledge in the field of migration. The topics covered in the training were Global and Regional Trends, Introduction to Migration Data, Introduction to the Effects of Migration, Introduction to Forced Migration, Introduction to Irregular and Transit Migration and Introduction to Labour Migration, Introduction to Integrating Migration into Development Planning and Integration Process Planning.
