The cornerstone for the construction of 10 apartments intended for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia was ceremonially laid in Kraljevo

08.06.2020. A ceremony was held on the 8th of June 2020, for laying the cornerstone for the construction of 10 apartments intended for refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia living within the territory of the city of Kraljevo.  The apartments will be constructed within the scope of ‘Sub-Project 9’ of the Regional Housing Program (RHP), currently being implemented in the Republic of Serbia by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration as the lead institution.

The financial resources used in the construction of this building have been provided in part through the funds made available to the Regional Housing Program, while the land and connecting infrastructure has been provided by the city of Kraljevo.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Coordination Commission for the Integration of Refugees, Mr. Predrag Terzic, the Major of the City of Kraljevo, Mrs. Svetlana Velimirovic, Deputy Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Ivan Bosnjak, National Secretary of the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Governance, Mr. Dusan Kovacevic, Director of the Public Sector’s Project Implementation Unit. Ms. Aleksandra Djordjevic, representative of the UNHCR, alongside the representatives of other international organizations and institutions.
