The reception center in Preševo gets a new name

On the occasion of 6 years since the opening of the Reception Center Preševo, on 8 July 2015, the first institution with such purpose in the Republic of Serbia, representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration today organized the opening ceremony of the board with the new name of the Center "Dragan Stanisavljević - Gagi". The center was given a new name in honor of Dragan Stanisavljević, our colleague who passed away in 2020. Gagi was the first worker employed at PC Preševo, the first reception center at the beginning of the migrant crisis in 2015.

In addition to the employees of the Commissariat, the ceremony was attended by representatives of other organizations engaged in the Center, representatives of the Preševo police, Gagi's family and friends. The board with the new name of the Center was solemnly unveiled by Gagi's grandson Vukan, with the help of colleagues Srđan Ristić and Slobodan Savović, the first managers of the Reception Center in Preševo.

The Commissariat for Refugees and Migration believes that this act is the least that can be done to express immense gratitude to colleagues and comrades who are no longer with us, and who were our support in the most difficult days.
