
Thirty eight refugee families in Stara Pazova receive building material under RHP subrpoject 5

Thirty eight refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia with permanent residence in the territory of Stara Pazova recevied packages of building material within the subproject 5 of the Regional Housing Programme (RHP) in Serbia.These 38 packages of building material are a donation from the RHP fund, where EU is the most significant donor, while value of a single package of building material amounts to EUR 9 000.
The RHP event was attended by Ivan Gerginov, Assistant Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, Djordje Radinovic, Mayor of Stara Pazova, Dusko Cutilo, Director of the Provincial Fund for Assistance to Refugees, Displaced Persons and Expelled Persons, Тim Swett, Regional Coordinator for Refugees and Migration at the U.S. Embassy, John Clayton, Head of Democratization at the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Jadranka Maric, representative of UNHCR in Serbia, Јеlena Tomic, Public Relations Manger at the Project Implementation Unit in Public Sector, representatives of other state and international institutions and organizations and beneficiaries.

Assistant Commissioner Gerginov highlighted that Stara Pazova is one of those municipalities which contribute to resolving housing issues of refugees in a most committed manner.
„At the moment, 169 housing units are being constructed in Stara Pazova, while another 30 refugee families are about to move into their newly built homes in Golubinci“ Gerginov said.
The Regional Housing Programme (RHP) was set up to provide durable housing solutions to vulnerable ref-ugees and displaced persons following the 1991-1995 conflicts on the territory of former Yugoslavia. The RHP is implemented by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia and mostly financed by the international donor community. The main donor is the European Union. The other donors are the United States of America, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and the Slovak Republic.
