Training at Training Center Plandiste

In co-operation between Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) within the project "Strengthening the capacity of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia", training on migration was held in the training center Plandište.

"The intensity and complexity of the challenges in the field of migration which Serbia is facing in recent years require continuous work on the professional development and training of our employees. This important training is result of joint cooperation between ICMPD and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration. We owe special thanks to the ICMPD and the University of Maastricht for enabling us to hold this training which we hope is only the first in a series, bearing in mind the ambition of the Commissariat to turn this centre in Plandiste into a regional training center on migration”, Commissioner Nataša Stanisavljević said.

The two-day training was held by Maastricht University professor Mrs. Talita Dubov and attended by the Commissariat employees, who had a unique opportunity to participate. The aim of the training was to strengthen the capacities of employees in the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration with a focus on increasing technical capacities for providing basic services to migrants arriving in Serbia, but also providing support and upgrading the SCRM platform for online learning and improving the cooperation of the Training Center in Plandište.

Improving the knowledge, skills and competencies of our employees through these types of training as well as the development of an online platform represent a significant aspect of our institutional progress in the coming period. The Commissariat will continue to hold trainings for its employees and support continuous learning. Considering all of these factors, the training centre holds significant potential which fills us with immense pride. Consequently, we are making every effort to transform Plandište into a regional migration training centre in the near future. This was the conclusion reached by the Commissioner, emphasizing our commitment to this endeavour.
